Project Overview
Found LED-UK Lighting on the Hastings Chamber of Commerce website, Kings Stationers have been a part of the local business community for well over 100 years. They are a traditional stationers and art shop located at 1 -2 Alexandra Parade, Hastings. (01424 437136) www.kingsstationers.co.uk
Client Brief
They recognised that they needed to upgrade the lighting in the shop due to the poor light that the existing fittings gave, especially on brighter days, the shop would appear as closed for the outside. Some of fitting were failing and in need of replacing, Roger was also keen to reduce their ongoing maintenance and electricity costs.
They contacted us and asked for a free lighting survey, to see how we could enhance the lighting in the shop and the internal displays.
The Solution By LED-UK
Relocate and replace the existing 5ft twin 58W 8 tube fittings with LED Double integrated tube and batten, in 5000K. These have 3250Lm and will give an enhanced lighting across the whole shop. In the attached art shop the existing 58W 5ft T8 tubes have been replaced with 25W Led in 5000K, cool white. These are much brighter and because of the high CRI, giving the colours a more natural look. With a cleaner and enhanced look to the shop, they are now happy with the results.
Savings
Kings Stationers would get a complete return on its investment in under one and a half years, making this a really good investment. Over a ten year period they will have saved over £9737 where the cost of doing nothing would be over £13,477. A difference of £3,740, a worthwhile investment
Other Benefits
There were the obvious benefits of lower maintenance costs, a full backup service offered by the company, as well as better working conditions for the staff. The lighting installed was also supplied with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty.
